Product Marketer & Content Lead

A software engineer-turned-marketer formerly at Spindle’s FP&A competitor Cube Software, Jake combines FinTech marketing and startup growth experience to help craft Spindle AI’s messaging, positioning, and voice. With a career spanning web development, demand generation, content strategy and competitive research, Jake’s expertise sets a foundation for Spindle’s growth in a world where enterprise buyers want help separating AI signal from AI noise.

Although Jake began his career as a software engineer at San Diego-based video telematics company Lytx developing real-time video reporting systems for commercial fleets, he found himself drawn to the strategic side of product launches — researching user needs, linking product with positioning, and even messaging. Since shifting into marketing, he’s become a strategist and writer with a proven track record in copywriting, brand development, and content strategy spanning multiple company stages and industries.

Prior to Spindle AI, Jake served as the second marketing hire at New York City-based FP&A platform Cube Software, which introduced him to the world of strategic finance. Over the next two years, he helped shape Cube’s growth strategy and brand story, including an aggressive SEO campaign that drove over 43% of the company’s qualified pipeline. As Cube's business grew, Jake stayed on the front lines, taking on content operations, sales enablement, website design and strategy, CRO, brand messaging, customer success enablement, and a host of other tasks the company needed to grow.

He later spent time consulting for FP&A providers and NYC-based business banking startup Rho. Since joining Spindle AI, he's been laying the groundwork for strong go-to-market foundations. Earlier in his pivot from software engineering to marketing, Jake worked in the online course industry before joining Huemor Designs, an award-winning web design agency based in New York and Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, where he gained additional experience in branding and positioning across customers in industries as varied as beauty, entertainment, development, manufacturing, and tech. This reinforced his belief that strong brands are built on differentiation, compelling stories, and a clear point of view.

Beyond marketing, Jake is passionate about language acquisition, ancient mythology, astronomy, opera, urban planning, and translating poetry. He speaks nine languages — including the Brazilian Portuguese he learned from a formative year in Fortaleza — and sees copywriting as applied psychology: understanding & shaping behavior through words and storytelling. In his free time, he's actively at work revising a novel, practicing Muay Thai and yoga, and studying for the JLPT. He lives in New York City, where he thrives on its energy and pace, but can just often be found hunting for Stockholm's best cardamom bun, coffee tasting in deep Tokyo, sipping mate over a volume of Borges in Buenos Aires, biking with his goddaughter to get aiyu or stinky tofu in Taipei, and attending drag shows in northern Paris. ∎
