Ryan Atallah is an entrepreneur, analytics expert, angel investor, and computer scientist with a track record of scaling simple solutions to complex problems. Formerly the co-founder of ClearGraph (acquired by Tableau/Salesforce), he currently serves as CEO & Co-Founder of Spindle AI (spindle.ai), where Mr. Atallah’s lifelong passion for helping people make better decisions with data fuels development of the world’s most powerful Generative Business Analytics platform for finance.
Having cultivated a passion for analytics & simulation as a Computer Science Section Leader at Stanford University, Mr. Atallah eventually dropped out to co-found ClearGraph, the intelligent analytics engine for Enterprise Business Intelligence, acquired by Tableau (Salesforce) in 2017. The technology Mr. Atallah spearheaded there—which translated natural language questions into multidimensional database queries and BI visualizations for Fortune 500 firms and top-10 banks like Capital One—became Tableau’s Ask Data capabilities, now known as Tableau AI. He continues his work in the Business Intelligence space as an active angel investor.
Today an inaugural member of the 2015 Forbes Finance Council—where his thought leadership touches the intersection of AI, FP&A, and Strategic Finance—Mr. Atallah began his career as a self-taught entrepreneur and builder, launching his first SaaS company with Spindle AI co‑founder Carson Kahn (under mentorship from React co‑creator Sophie Alpert) while all three were still in high school. Though he now lives in Palo Alto, California, Mr. Atallah grew up amid the vibrant TechStars ecosystem and towering Flatirons of Boulder, Colorado, where he still loves skiing, mountain biking, and visiting family.
In his spare time, Mr. Atallah enjoys analytic philosophy, political science, and Speech & Debate, for which he has won multiple awards spanning both State and National competitions. He also makes independent short films and documentaries, including the national award-winning documentary Woodrow Wilson and the League of Nations. He resides near Stanford University with his wife, Hollywood screenwriter Ashly Huntington, where they enjoy watching the hummingbirds with their cats, Nimble & Mimic. More at RyanAtallah.com. ∎
