CPO & Co-Founder

CPO & Co-Founder

On a lifelong mission to build software that augments human cognition, Carson Kahn is a product leader, scientist-engineer, designer, and investor at the intersection of generative AI and finance.

Mr. Kahn currently serves as Chief Product Officer & Co-Founder of Spindle AI (spindle.ai), the world’s most powerful Generative Business Analytics platform, with backing from Accel Partners (Atlassian/Qualtrics/UiPath), Caffeinated Capital (Brex/Airtable/Notion), and diverse Fortune 100 executives, including former customers from Goldman Sachs, JPMorgan, and elsewhere. Previously, he served as President of Brainspace AI (acquired by Reveal with $200 million from K1 Capital), an industry-leading natural language analytics engine incubated by the CIA and used throughout the Big 4.

Named a Goldman Sachs 100 Innovator for “first-principles advancements across generative AI and Natural Language Processing”, Mr. Kahn is credited in the publication of GPT-2, and his work has been covered in the Wall Street Journal, Bloomberg, Harvard Business Review, and elsewhere. He has been tapped for expertise in machine learning, cybersecurity, and cross-border venture capital flows by the National Economic Council (NEC); Congressional Caucus on AI; and Center on Terrorism, Extremism, and Counterterrorism (CTEC), where he today also serves as Senior Advisor for Machine Learning in Counterintelligence.

Mr. Kahn was previously recruited to serve as founding CTO of JPMorgan In–Residence business Volley ML, saving Fortune 100 firms millions in real labor annually with the world’s first fully autonomous knowledge management platform for heavily regulated industry (HIG). Mr. Kahn designed, engineered, and commercialized Volley’s controllable Natural Language Generation engine (including early language models) alongside a world-class team from Google, the NSA & CIA, Stanford, Carnegie Mellon, and the Fortune 500—with hybrid financing from JPMorgan, Zuckerberg Ventures, Silicon Valley Bank, and the leadership of Goldman Sachs—before being asked to lead & restructure sister company Brainspace AI ahead of its acquisition by Reveal.

Today, he also serves on the Boards or Advisory Boards of Stanford University AII; the University of Colorado College of Computer Science; and the UCSC Center for Excellence in Data Science Research; and supports DeepTech startups in product design, ML/NLP, go-to-market, and governance as a Techstars Mentor & First Round Mentor. Mr. Kahn invests as an LP or Venture Partner with Thiel- and Andreesen-backed VC firm Social Impact Capital (Boom Supersonic, Menten AI, Andela), the Enterprise AI Fund (Anthropic, Databricks, Arc), and Transpire Ventures (SPVs). He began his career as a computer science extern at Google (via the ATLAS Institute), simulating the dynamics of winter snow.

A Black Belt in Karate & eager sportsman, Mr. Kahn can sometimes be found on the (literal) floor of a racquetball court; or else improvising jazz piano tunes to the (general) delight of his wife, Seda, at their home on the Embarcadero in San Francisco. More at CarsonKahn.com. ∎
